Watch me try to eat raw garlic and cayenne pepper

Parasite cleanse Day 1. <- watch here

Parasite Cleanse Continued <- watch here next!

Today, one of my team members and I were watching YouTube videos of people doing colon hydrotherapy.

We both think we have parasites and are considering colon hydrotherapy to clean out the large intestine and maybe flush out those nasty bugs?

Recently we both completed a cleanse and then decided it might be a good time to clear out the lower half.

One of the YouTube videos was by a guy who had similar symptoms to both of us and then he suggested using garlic and cayenne pepper. So today I gave it a whirl.

Parasites and functional medicine aren’t my specialty, but I’m always willing to try some interesting home remedies.

Garlic and cayenne pepper are known for their health benefits.

Garlic has anti fungal, antioxidants properties, some consider it a great supplement to take for persons with cancer.

Cayenne pepper, lemon and apple cider vinegar – I started drinking every morning to replace my morning coffee.

Cayenne pepper has terrific health benefits -it’s stimulates the metabolism, accelerating fat loss.

Many cultures use garlic and cayenne pepper for parasites. As a culture we have thrown medicinal herbs to the wayside. We no longer use herbs as a part of daily life. They used to be in many of our dishes and people would frequently cook with herbs. Nowadays you’d be hard pressed to find a decent oregano in most people’s cupboard (a great herb for bacteria, viruses, fungi, and general cleansing).

For the next 3-4 days I’ll eat garlic and drink cayenne pepper and see what comes of it.

Stay tuned!

Comment below if you’ve done a cleanse or tried the garlic, cayenne pepper remedies.

Why do I punish myself

I’m doing a cleanse this week. A throwback cleanse I did about 6 years ago. You drink a pea protein based meal replacement 3 times a day. You can add lemon/honey “lemonade” twice a day if you need to.

Once I get going on these cleanses, it’s only a matter of time before I start looking in a raw diet like FullyRaw Kristina http://www.fullyraw.com

I just bought her app and made a banana/strawberry smoothie for breakfast.

Rewind 3 years ago and I was looking into the raw diet and started drinking datorade/ and making banana smoothies every day.

Then I kept eating the Indian food, Taco Bell bean burritos (they’re vegetarian, right?) and basically eating myself to death. I gained 30 lbs and felt awful.

Insert Ketogenic diet- complete and total opposite: all meat and cheese. Especially the way I did it, because I was lazy. I lost the 30 pounds I had gained and look better than I have in awhile.

Problem, I still have this urge to not eat meat and to eat a raw vegan lifestyle. I honestly think it is more congruent with who I am. Why can’t I commit to it ? Idk, social stress and pressure to eat cooked foods and partake in holiday festivities.

Round and round we go.

Christmas time in the Village

it’s Christmas time in my favorite village!

We have the tree up, the garland hanging above the windows, the sweet sounds of Nat King Cole on the surround sound and our countdown clock ready to go.

16 days until Christmas!

I wrapped the garland with ribbon from Michaels and hung it above the windows.

I watched a nifty YouTube video about making bows and it only took me 2 tries to get it right. I made one and fastened it to my wreath I bought 3 years ago.

2018 has been a year of completion for me, I haven’t completed this many projects since I was 20. I have bought all of the necessary supplies and not followed through with the projects.

We used Thieves oil on the pine cones to achieve the fresh citrus, cinnamon smell.

I made another batch of apple butter.

Now to finish buying my love a few more small Christmas gifts and I’ll be all set.

It’s been awhile…

I think this is what happens to everyone, you write for awhile and then you drop off the face of the earth.

April might have been my last post, which for me is pretty usual. During some terribly busy and tumultuous times in my life, I stayed consistent with my writing. Once things started to get back to normal there I went back into normalcy. Sometimes when you feel like the world around in spinning chaotically around you, up is down, down is up and you can’t quite seem to catch hold of a safety rail to keep you balanced, writing is the only the way to build a safety wall around you.

I decided to write again because it’s important to me to document my life and share the goings on. I don’t need a safety rail this time and I’m feeling quite at peace with myself.

How does writing make you feel?

Do you use it in times of stress and peace?

Dream Big!

Ok, so I think I am getting the hint, Dream Big!

~What you think about, you speak about, you bring about

~10X Everything in your life that you want more of

~Dream Big because God has Big plans for you

Basically, God is telling me to keep dreaming big, thinking big, speaking big, and He will help to bring about Big changes. Ok, ok, but man oh man if there wasn’t some 5’6″ brunette standing in my way, I could do it (that’s me).  I might be alone in this but I am always standing in my own way.  I know I should do X or if I’m listening to Grant Cardone, I should do X then 10X it or 100X it. Often times, I think about what I should be doing then come home tired, but on Netflix and stress about how I’m not doing what I should be doing because I’m tired so it’s okay if I binge watch a weird history show for the next 5 hours then go to bed late and wake up tired.  Actually writing down what I do some nights makes me want to get up and slap myself across the face.

We are only given one life and it’s up to us to live that life to the fullest. We don’t do everything perfectly and yes it has ups and downs but we have to keep pushing forward, because you only get one shot. You only get one opportunity to things right and wrong. You only have this one life for better or worse. Honestly, right now, I want to ask the inventor of Netflix why they had to do this to me!, not really, you’re awesome and I’m the one who needs to get a grip. I abused the gift of Netflix streaming and turned it into a vice (binge watching shows for 5 hours definitely qualifies as a vice).  So, from now on, I am going to STOP my binge watching and focus my energy into something positive, like writing.  No one may read my posts but if one person reads this and makes a positive change in their life, then well that my friends is called AMAZING! Sitting on my sofa was not changing the world, it was not adding anything positive to my life (besides adding to my waistline).

So here’s to making changes big or small, that are positive and life giving.

Facebook Ads

Where have I been?

Not sure how many people read or follow this blog but I have been MIA for the past few months because I’ve been super busy with my office.

But the most exciting part of the past few months has been learning Facebook Ads. After 6 long months I have mastered Facebook Ads! This post is more of yippee for me and I want to shout it from the rooftops.

I have created funnels and a google spreadsheet to track all of the leads and stats. Also I get a text when someone new follows my funnel through to the end! For all of my super organized peeps, you know how exciting this is for me.

As a busy person this was critical for my mental wellbeing.

I really thought this process would be more daunting than it was but all of the years of piecing social media together has finally paid off!

Helpful tip: learn how to write copy. Before I attempted this, I learned how to write copy because I love to write, obviously.

I even contacted some of friends in my business and did some Facebook Ads for them. The best part?! They saved money and knew they could trust me. Trust is huge in business and I’ve been burned a few times myself by sleazy sales people. The guys I contacted were charging $2000-$2500 / month! Crazy expensive, so I cut my price in half, and enjoy the process.

Anyways, I’m very excited to have figured this whole thing out. I know it’s not for everyone but I love helping my business help other people and helping my colleagues.

Yay! 🙂

The 10X Effect

I’m re-listening to Grant Cardone’s book “The 10X Rule” and I absolutely love it!

I first listened to this book last year and it was such an inspiration. In order to live to 100% potential you must give 10X or 100X of what you think is necessary. If you think a project will take X amount of time, energy or money then you first need to prepare yourself mentally that it will take 10X that and then be prepared to give 10X the effort you thought was necessary.

This is such a truth. Everything takes much longer and much more work than we expect. Most people will give up right before they make it, simply because they give up too soon. Mentally, they didn’t prepare for this long or tough of a haul.

If I could encourage you to do one thing today, it would be to take a 10X approach to your life.

Microworkers

Today I discovered a very interesting website, microworkers.

On microworkers, people sign up to like, share, tweet and other things to help people gain a following. They get paid a small amount for each task they complete. Each task pays a different amount.

While it may not seem like much, for those of us who are fiscally conscious this is a great way to get paid for something you do anyways! How many times do you like a post or picture each day? If you have an affinity for social websites I would highly suggest signing up. It’s easy and free to do.

At first, I got a great laugh, the name is hilarious and the concept almost seems ludicrous. Who pays for likes and shares? But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. People may need to know about a great product that is being developed but won’t find out until it becomes “popular”.

Not entirely sure how I feel about paid for likes and shares, but it seems like a good way to make some spare cash and help someone get started in business.

What are your thoughts?

The compound effect

Staying with the theme of self improvement and personal development, I want to share a book I’ve been listening to on my way to the office. It’s called “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy. I started listening to this book back in June and for some reason got away from listening to personal development (pd) all together.

Last year, I listened to every book by Grant Cardone, a few by Brian Tracy, and etc… I was a personal development junkie for a long time. And ya know what? My life was actually pretty great, listening to this positivity and keeping me focused on the tasks at hand. Even after listening to Mr. Hardy for the past few days, I am writing this post because I am committed to the compound effect. I’m making small changes in my life because it is the small changes that make the difference. They add up to the big changes. It is important to keep a schedule, stick to it, and gain MO(momentum) as he calls it. It really does work!

He talks about not going full force into something, making unsustainable commitments or promises just to break them in 30 to 60 days. Instead, make goals that you can stick to long term. If you want to work out, commit to working out 30 min a day , 4 days a week, or a schedule that you know you can stick to.

Also how small habit can make or break you. For instance my 2pm Starbucks run was not good for my wallet or my health. I’m going to calculate all of the money I spent on Starbucks this year and then cry when I realize how completely unnecessary that was. Unfortunately I can’t rewind the clock and I knew better but sometimes you get lonely and want a break from the office so you make yourself feel better with some Starbucks. Maybe it’s a bit of a shopping addiction like a small little drizzle of spending that keeps you happy with that dose of dopamine.

The biggest secret in cleaning

Most of my friends know that I am a clean Freak. I love to walk into my apartment and see everything nice and tidy. I also love that feeling I get after a great deep cleaning. Some people use sage to clear out the unwanted spirits, I use my steam cleaner.

This summer (2017), my friend Xavier told me about this steam cleaner and my life has never been the same (or cleaner) since. I told him I use a steamer for my clothes, instead of an iron. ‘ A steamer?’ he said, and then suggested that I purchase a McCulloch (no endorsements) steam cleaner.  He swore by this product as the end all, be all of cleaners. He bragged about the many attachments and how he used it on everything in his house.

Well what was a neat freak to do? I hopped on Amazon and bought myself a Mcculloch steam cleaner. It arrived in a few days and away I went.

This is AMAZING!

Seriously! amazing…it’s super easy to use and even comes with it’s own cute little funnel. I bought some distilled water (as recommended) and went to work.

I have faux hard word floors in 90% of my apartment and this thing makes them shine. I also have a glass shower with the nasty water marks that accumulate over time. A his and her sink and a guest bath.  All of this would’ve normally required many different cleaning solutions, mops, sponges, etc… No more! I use the different attachments depending on what I’m cleaning and the results are remarkable.

Most importantly, I love not using cleaning products. I have been using essential oils more and more to avoid the harsh chemicals. I save on not using all of the cleaning products. #savingmoney . I’m a frugal person, so it was a big investment, but at the end of the day, I’ve been super happy with this purchase. I’d have to sit down and calculate how much I’ll save in the course of the mcculloch’s life.

Draw-backs

Some of the attachments produce this ear piercing sound. I pull out my noise cancelling headphones and move on with my cleaning.

Positive- points

Unlike swiffers in which you have to buy and buy the cleaning cloths, the Mcculloch cleaner comes with pads that you can wash in the washing machine.

The attachments are easy to use and easy to store.

It’s small and easy to store.

Very easy to use and effective.

The leftover water can be poured down the drain and I don’t feel guilty about polluting the water.

Overall, the Mcculloch steam cleaner is a great product and I love using it.  In fact, I used it today (hence the post) and am reveling in the cleanliness of my home.
